Project summary

This project‘s goal was to propose regulatory changes to stimulate competition in the Colombian health sector and to suggest methods for monitoring and investigating the performance of competition in the various health markets to the Colombian competition authority.

The work process included a review of the relevant theoretical and empirical literatures; a thorough revision and understanding of the Colombian health sector regulation; a descriptive analysis of the workings of the Colombian health markets using the available micro data; and a set of policy recommendations to improve competition.
